Glass fibres are long, thin fibres made of glass. To produce glass fibres, molten glass is drawn into thin threads. They are used as sensors, fiber optic cables (data transmission), rovings, fiberglass fleece and rods for insulation. Glass fibre reinforced plastics also have a low tendency to leak and absorb very little moisture.
